Even tho’ we were under an SPC “See Text” for most of yesterday nothing went up within striking distance during daylight hours. Given the maritime air influence to our east I wasn’t wild about chasing down radar-indicated cells only to have them fall apart as I approached. However, when a storm approached the area just after 10:00 pm local time both my son and I were desperate enough to fly out the door to attempt some lightning pictures. (Desperate because this chase season is beginning to look like our 2005 season which was a spectacular bust from start to finish.) The picture above was my best attempt after my son configured my camera for timed exposures. He was shooting with his camera as well and may have better photos than this, but at least we had storms!
