Sitting here in a state park monitoring radar and awaiting convective mayhem. The photo above is from our hotel parking lot in Stillwater OK as the southern end of a huge MCS (mesoscale convective system) swept through. Nothing exciting in Stillwater, but further northwest folks had a rough morning.
The radar pic above shows the cold front just south of Oklahoma City as we sit here ~60 miles south of it. Forecasts and models show that this front should break the strong cap resident here and produce a few supercells over the next couple of hours. We await the results…
