Despite plenty of bulk shear and low (too low) ceilings I saw nothing of note yesterday (10/28). I didn’t really chase as this was more of a diversion on my way back home from northern Virginia. Visibility was atrocious – perhaps 200 yards – and I couldn’t even make out a base as this precipitation core passed by just to my west.


This was the “Tail-end Charlie” cell on a line moving northeast that may have been the same line that intensified over northern Maryland into Pennsylvania, prompting severe thunderstorm warnings along with some tree damage up that way
