Another vigorous storm system is approaching the southern Plains and looks to unleash severe weather over the next couple of days. Here is the SPC Day 2 covering Monday 11/16 showing an Enhanced Risk of severe weather that includes tornados.


Based on a (very) brief look at forecast model outputs (including the 4 km NAM shown below) I’d locate somewhere near Childress TX by 3 pm CST if I could chase tomorrow:


Storms don’t look to be discrete very long before coalescing into a hefty squall line so it would be a quick chase for me.

As it is (a) I’m not out there tomorrow and (b) nothing chaseable appears likely here in Virginia out of this system. Armchair chasing only for me this week!
