Experimental tornado probability graphics from Earth System Research Laboratory (http://1.usa.gov/1YzccmW) shows 2-3% chance of F1+ tornados across Virginia Wednesday December 23rd.
And for Christmas Eve the same experimental tool shows tornado probabilities over much of the Old Dominion at 3-4%.
Granted, single digit tornado probabilities aren’t very high but in Virginia these are notable values (worthy of the old SPC “See Text” risk category). And in December? Crazy!!
Thus I’ve been charging batteries on various chase devices today. Conditions don’t look great for lots of visibility, and daylight this time of year is in short supply, but still…
