I didn’t get out to the Plains to chase this spring but the urge to take a chase trip hasn’t diminished one bit. Thus I’ll be venturing at least to the Midwest the next few days to catch storms. Here’s the 4 km NAM radar reflectivity depiction over Indiana and Ohio Friday afternoon as upper level energy rides along a warm front:
Saturday also looks good over parts of Ohio so the Buckeye State may be our bullseye both days.
So far the situation over the Plains doesn’t look enticing enough to head in that direction after our Midwestern venture. There are hints of some potential for decent storms in the Kansas/Oklahoma region early next week but it looks to me to be strongly capped. If we do decide to head that direction we’ll determine that while on the road.
Meanwhile Midwest here we come!
